PRIVACY POLICY — ANDROID APP

Last Updated: September 26, 2026

This policy applies to the SafePlace app for Android. The iOS and desktop apps are covered by the general Privacy Policy; the difference is the two services described under “Third-party services in the Android app”.

SafePlace (“we”, “our”, “us”) is a VPN service operated by DuosDigitos LLC. We are committed to minimizing the collection and use of personal data. This policy explains what data we handle, why, and how we protect it.

MINIMAL DATA COLLECTION

SafePlace does not require registration for basic use. A random device identifier is generated locally on your device to manage server connections. This identifier contains no personal information and cannot be used to identify you.

Optionally, you may sign in to access premium features: with Sign in with Apple (iOS), with your Google account (Android), or with a one-time code sent to your email address (all apps). When you do, we receive the email address of that account (for Apple, your anonymous relay address unless you chose to share your real one). It is used solely to link your account and is not shared with third parties.

ACCOUNT DATA

If you create an account (via Apple, Google, or an email code), we store:

We do not store your Apple ID or Google password, payment card details, or any financial information. All payments are processed by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play).

NO TRAFFIC LOGS

We do not log, monitor, or record:

For service operation, we store minimal technical data: a last-connected timestamp per device (to manage server rotation) and your preferred region setting. Separately, our website and API keep ordinary web-server access logs — the connecting IP address, the time, and the address requested — for up to 14 days, to keep the service running and to stop abuse. Those logs sit outside the VPN network and hold nothing about traffic inside the tunnel. None of this can be used to identify your internet activity.

We have no ability to identify what any user was doing on the internet at any point in time. This is by design.

DIAGNOSTICS YOU CHOOSE TO SEND

When you send feedback from the app, your message travels together with a technical report so that we can investigate it: the app version, your device model and operating system version, whether Premium is active, your Smart Bypass country setting, and the app’s own recent log lines (connection attempts and errors). This report never contains your browsing activity, the contents of your traffic, or the sites you visit. It is used only to work on your report.

When a connection fails, the app may report the failure to us (the network type, the region you selected, and the time) so that we can detect servers that have been blocked. This report contains no browsing data.

THIRD-PARTY SERVICES IN THE ANDROID APP

Besides Google Play Billing and Google Sign-In, used only for purchases and for signing in with a Google account, the Android app includes two third-party services. Both start only after you agree to the data declaration shown on first launch. Both connect directly, outside the VPN tunnel — the app excludes itself from its own VPN and never changes your country for their sake — so they see your real IP address.

GOOGLE ADMOB — ADS IN THE FREE PLAN

While you use SafePlace for free, a banner at the bottom of the screen is served by Google AdMob. We request “limited ads”: no personalized advertising and no advertising identifiers or cookies stored on your device for advertising; we have removed the advertising ID permission from the app and signal restricted data processing. To deliver and measure the banner and to prevent fraud, Google may receive:

With a subscription (Basic or Premium) the app shows no ads and requests none. In Russia AdMob serves no ads, so no banner appears there. Ads for competing VPN services are blocked. How Google uses this data: How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services.

APPSFLYER — WHERE INSTALLS COME FROM

AppsFlyer tells us which campaign or store page brought you to the app, so that we can see which of our marketing works. It receives:

We turn off the collection of advertising IDs, the App Set ID, the Android ID and your mobile carrier’s name. AppsFlyer may confirm the install to the advertising network whose ad you tapped. See AppsFlyer’s privacy policy.

You can withdraw consent at any time in Settings → Privacy & Data. The tunnel goes down first; then data collection — including both services above — stops until you agree again.

DATA SHARING

We do not sell your data. Besides the two services above, we disclose data only to the services needed to run SafePlace: Google (Google Play), which processes purchases; Google as a sign-in provider, if you choose it; and our email provider (Google Workspace), which delivers one-time sign-in codes to the address you provide. We do not log VPN traffic and therefore have no traffic data to provide in response to any requests.

ACCOUNT DELETION

You may delete your account at any time from the Profile screen in the app, or by email if you no longer have the app. When you delete your account, we remove your email address and the links to your sign-in methods from it and end its sign-in sessions; purchase records are retained, no longer linked to your email address. What exactly is deleted and what is kept, and for how long: Delete your SafePlace account. You may sign in again at any time to create a fresh account.

ENCRYPTION

All VPN traffic is protected using modern cryptographic protocols. Your connection passes through secure tunnels that help prevent interception by third parties, including your internet service provider.

CHILDREN'S PRIVACY

SafePlace is intended for adults — 18 and older — which is the age rating we declare on the App Store and on Google Play. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

CHANGES TO THIS POLICY

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of SafePlace after changes constitutes acceptance.
